WHISPERshout Poetry Magazine, Issue 6, Part 2!
We’ve got some rainy poems for you this week, in case it’s been dry where you are. Rain is one of the things that poets never get tired of writing about. See which rain poem you like best!
This first poem has a very cool title! The poet Hamna took the word “vibrant” and broke it into two parts full of new meaning. Now her poem is a playful rant about hanging out with flowers in the rain, just vibing!

In this next poem, the poet Rose repeats words like night, walk, and down to bring music to the poem, and don’t you love thumping and jump together?
“I had a dream” by Rose C. - age 7, MD
It may be dry where we are, but here’s a poem about a place that’s REALLY dry most of the time…
“Desert” by Bruce H. - 2nd grade, MD
Notice how the poet Bruce skillfully used the letters of the word DESERT to organize his poem with facts about the desert expressed in a very interesting way: “Evenings animals hunt for food/Ringing on houses for prey,” as though the desert is a neighborhood!
Our final poem this week was composed in Spanish by a PreK kid. His mom helped to translate it into English. You can be a poet even if you can’t write yet!
